Join MADE on September 29 and see Marc Fornes of THEVERYMANY™ discuss his work. This is the second event of the City Building Lecture Series, in partnership with the Art Gallery of Alberta, the City of Edmonton, and Athabasca University.
Marc Fornes is a registered Architect and founder of THEVERYMANY™, a New York based studio engaging Art and Architecture through the process of systematic research and development into applied Computer Science and Digital Fabrication.
Marc Fornes’ work is comprised of a series of articulated structures that serve to bridge the gap between art and architecture. His work, which can be found worldwide from Korea to France, consists of a variety of forms and colours which borderline on the surreal while fostering human interaction with the built environment. His work serves a variety of purposes, each unique to their site, predominantly adding an element of whimsy and excitement to the built environment in one way or another.
His most prominent work in Edmonton is the Vaulted Willow located in Borden Park which has won multiple awards and is one of Edmonton’s most prized pieces of public art.
A reception will follow, with food and a cash bar available.
