This year's theme is placemaking. According to the Project for Public Spaces

“Placemaking can bring people together and create a sense of shared ownership of a city and its public spaces. Through Placemaking, community places not only become more active and useful for the people who help to create them, they can become more welcoming to people of all ages, abilities, income levels and backgrounds.”

More information on this year's theme will be provided closer to the event itself.

Makescape 3.0 recap

Makescape 3.0 recap

MADE, with CJSR and CKUA was a partner in Makescape 3.0 which occured as an urban intervention within the Winter City Shakeup, from January 28 to 31, 2015. Makescape 3.0 was a sound based intervention which activated the plaza adjacent to the Alberta Hotel in downtown Edmonton, in a surprising new way. Listen here for an audio feature from CKUA.
