Trevor Boddy Book Launch: Glacier Skywalk and Stantec Airports

MADE and Bookshop by dc3 Art Projects are pleased to host the Edmonton launch of two architecture books with Alberta connections from Vancouver's Figure 1 Publishing: Stantec: Airports by Trevor Boddy and Glacier Skywalk by Boddy with Clea and Jeremy Sturgess of Calgary. In addition, Trevor Boddy has just published CITY-BUILDER: The Architecture of James K M Cheng
Boddy also contributed to MADE's Sheltered|Exposed exhibition catalogue. 

Copies of all four books will be available for sale. 

Trevor Boddy is a well known Vancouver-based architecture critic and curator. His award winning writing about architecture and cities has appeared in publications around the world.

Reception starts at 6:30 with brief remarks at 7:00. The event is free, but an eventbrite reservation is required, as space is limited.

16th Annual Street Furniture Competition

MADE's 16th Annual Street Furniture Competition will be held on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at Churchill Square, during The Works. Teams of 2-4 are given 6 hours of building time, during which they compete to design and build a piece of furniture from the materials provided. A panel of local architects and designers will judge the final pieces, and award prizes. Space is limited, so register now!

 More than ever before, public artworks are stimulating and inviting active dialogue rather than just passive observation, thereby fostering social interaction that can even lead to a sense of social cohesion among the viewers themselves.”
