MADE is seeking a Project Manager and a Project Coordinator with previous project management experience, graphic design skills, basic web knowledge, as well as an interest in architecture / design / planning or public art to manage and coordinate an exhibition which we are planning.

You will be expected to commit approximately 5 hours per week to this work, on a flexible schedule, and firm deadlines must be met.

The internship will be for a duration of twelve months (May 2016 to May 2017), and you will be compensated based on an average of 4-6 hours per week for each position. The final value of this contract position is to be determined.

Applicants must have:

  • Education or experience in a related field: graphic design, visual communication design, architecture, urban design, art, or industrial design.

  • A working knowledge of design software, e.g. Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator

  • A computer with the necessary software to complete your work

  • The ability to receive direction / input, and work independently to meet deadlines

  • Availability to coordinate and attend meetings at short notice

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Excellent graphic design skills for marketing work

  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.


Additional assets would include:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, and web publishing (specifically Squarespace)

  • Knowledge of the design process

  • Curatorial experience

  • A desire to increase and improve the design conversation in Edmonton!


Additional job related tasks for both positions may include:

  • Coordinate and manage the exhbition schedule and provide updates to the board

  • Perform set up and take-down duties related to the exhibition

  • Coordinate the delivery and production of exhibition materials

  • Coordinate an opening reception

  • Produce documentation at the end of the exhibition for funders

  • Ensure all exhibition materials are properly documented and catalogued

  • Communicate with designers as required

  • Organise transportation for designers and partners as required
