1 hr / week for projects and 2 hrs / month for board meetings.

• Oversee financial functioning of MADE

• Manage day-to-day financial affairs

• Provide periodic updates on the financial state of the organization

• Act as signing officer, alongside the Chair, for cheques and other documents

• Keep full accounting of organizational receipts and disbursements

• Receive and bank all monies due to the organization and responsible for deposit of same to relevant external financial institutions

• Disburse monies as directed by the Board

• Establish and maintain bank accounts, bank records, and other financial records

• Develop financial controls to prevent fraud and detect errors, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information

• Seek out, coordinate, and report to the Board the status of grants, bursaries, loans, sponsorship, and other financial assistance that the Board has approved

• File necessary financial reports, tax reports, and audits

• Attend MADE events

• Education or experience in a related field: accounting, bookkeeping, finance, business, or economics

• Knowledge of basic financial statements including balance sheets and income statements

• Excellent organizational skills

• A computer with the necessary software to complete your work

• The ability to receive direction / input, and work independently to meet deadlines

• Availability to attend 1 evening meeting in downtown Edmonton each month (virtual option is available)

• Knowledge on the subject of Inclusive Design, and how it affects the design process

• A desire to increase and improve the design conversation in Edmonton!
